WILL COACH BRIAN KELLY BLAME HIMSELF FOR NOTRE DAME LOSS

During the last few weeks, we have heard and seen a lot coming from Notre Dame coach, Brian Kelly.  He complained about a ND touchdown being called back due to an illegal pick against Florida State.  He had no problem however when his team scored on the very same play and that illegal pick was missed by the officials.   Then leading up to his team's game against Arizona State, Kelly was complaining about some teams playing "bye" games so late in the season.  It was not hard to figure that he was referring to Mississippi State playing Tennessee Martin and Mississippi playing Presbyterian that week.  Notre Dame went on to lose 55-31 to Arizona State, so maybe Kelly should have spent more time preparing for his game instead of worrying who other teams were playing.   To make matters worse, Kelly blamed QB. Everett Golson for the loss.  Nice thing to lay on your quarterback, especially if it wasn't for Golson, Notre Dame may not have won half the games this season.  Then again I would not expect something much different from Kelly.  That brings us to this weeks game in which the Irish went down to 17 point underdog, Northwestern, 43-40.  Notre Dame had scored to increase their lead to 40-29, with 10:30 left in the 4th quarter.  Instead of kicking the usual extra point to make it a 12 point lead, Kelly decided to go for a meaningless 2 point conversion.  Even if the 2 point conversion was good, Northwestern needed 2 TD's to win either way.  The 2 point effort failed, so now it allowed Northwestern an opportunity to tie the game with a TD, 2 point conversion, and a FG, which they were able to do and send the game into overtime, and pull out the win.  So now I ask if Kelly will blame himself for the nothing short of a dumb decision to go for 2 or will he find some scapegoat for his poor coaching???   I will leave that up to you to what Kelly might do or say, but I think everyone might have some idea what I think.  CONGRATS TO NORTHWESTERN

Additional thought:  I am sure that Mike Golic (ND ALUM)  from ESPN Mike and Mike show will never live down this loss.  His partner. Mike Greenberg (Northwestern ALUM) will not allow that to happen.

to answer the article title; I don't know if he WILL, but i'm 110% sure that he SHOULD blame himself. The 2 pt convert play was idiotic at best; and worse yet they had no reason to go for it
