Marshall University is 11-0 after their 23-18 win over Alabama Birmingham. Some will argue undefeated Marshall should be in the playoff picture, but there are a few reasons that will not and should not happen.
If we were to take the top 25 teams in the country and had them play Marshall's schedule, more than likely all 25 would be undefeated. Marshall's opponents have a combined record of 49 wins and 82 losses. Las Vegas odds have Marshall favored in these games by an average of 23 points. I understand it is not Marshall's fault that they play in the extremely weak Conference USA, but is it fair to put them ahead of teams who must play several teams that have appeared in the top 25 this season and play in conferences like the SEC..BIG 12...BIG 10...PAC 12...or ACC? Marshall obviously has to play teams from their conference, but if they want national recognition, then they need to start scheduling a few non conference teams that are normally nationally recognized. Until that happens, Marshall will never be considered a playoff team no matter how many games they win.

RIGHT SAID. Every year teams like them make their case why they should be going to the better bowl game and this year now its the playoffs. Its crazy to have a team with their schedule jump ahead of someone who played and beat some of the top 20 teams in the country.
why would they want to go to a playoff battle with a REAL top ranked team? to get embarassed in front of a national audience
the rules never seemt o include all teams. there is always those few who r left guessing
Marshall is lucky to be in the top25 with their schedule
And now their loss to W Kentucky..biggest argment of all them
